Journey around the globe with the new special edition Peerless pen range
Cross Pens, one of the largest luxury pen brands in the world, have just released their new limited edition Peerless pen range, which are based off famous cosmopolitan landmarks. The Peerless range seeks to celebrate three global iconic cities which have truly made their mark on the modern world. Each adorned with Swarovski crystal accents, these specialised designs have been inspired by the unique architectural beauty of New York’s Chrysler Building, London’s Elizabeth Tower and Tokyo’s Skytree, and all fitted with a unique luxury gem stone representing an aspect of the building, or the city itself.
As mentioned, the Peerless range is inspired by three iconic buildings, and the first one is London’s Elizabeth tower. More commonly known as Big Ben, the Elizabeth Tower is one of the most famous buildings in all of London’s skyline, and is universally recognised both as a symbol of London, and of the United Kingdom itself. The London pen has been designed to reflect this, and has been etched with architectural detail reflecting aspects of the tower, for example Roman numerals have been etched into the side to represent time, and the embedded ruby gem has been utilised to reflect the Queen’s jubilee. The pen is available in ballpoint pen and fountain pen styles, it is 23CT gold plate with a Swarovski® crystal in its classic conical top. The fountain pen style includes a fine, 18CT solid gold nib.
The second unique pen in the Peerless range was designed to reflect the tallest brick building in the world, a building which has stood as symbol of New York for almost 90 years , the Chrysler building. This pen has been etched with architectural detail reflecting aspects of NYC’s famous Art Deco style skyscraper, including an emerald green crystal to represent the money on Wall Street. It is available in ball point pen and fountain pen styles, it is platinum plated and embellished with a Swarovski® crystal in its conical top. The fountain pen style includes a rhodium plated, 18CT solid gold nib.
Last but certainly not least, the third specialised pen has been etched with architectural detail reflecting aspects of Japan’s tallest structure and centre of broadcasting and communications, the Tokyo Skytree. It features an exquisite, engraved design in platinum plate inspired by the stunning Neo-Futuristic architecture of Tokyo’s Skytree Tower and a jet hematite pure black crystal embedded in the cap. The pen is available in ballpoint pen and fountain pen styles, in a satin black finish with a Swarovski® crystal in its unique conical top. The fountain pen style includes a rhodium plated, 18CT solid gold nib.
Each pen is decorated with the geographic coordinate system of the city they represent, packaged in a specially fashioned keepsake box. Magnus Jonsson, Global CMO at Cross, speaks of ‘Human greatness’ being part of the DNA of Cross, and the Peerless range captures human greatness absolutely flawlessly. Ballpoint styles are RRP £275 and fountain pen styles are RRP £495.
