What the brand say…
Exemplifying the iconic Scottish history of The Dalmore, the striking silver pedestal houses The Dalmore King Alexander III, named for the momentous events that culminated in the use of the 12-pointed royal stag emblem on every bottle. The Dalmore King Alexander III is the epitome of handcrafted excellence and the result of a remarkable six-cask marriage of specialist selected aged stocks. It is joined by The Dalmore 15, the quintessence of The Dalmore house style, with rich notes of orange marmalade, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The Dalmore 12 is an outstanding whisky, with character far beyond its years.
Together, these whiskies represent an unforgettable drinking experience, elegantly offered in limited quantities to mark a relentless pursuit of excellence. The Dalmore Pedestal Collection is available to purchase from selected retailers across the UK, including The Whisky Exchange, Master of Malt and The Whisky Shop., with an RSP ranging from £52 to £180.
The Dalmore 12: A whisky with character beyond its years
Maturation journey: Under the watchful eye of our Master Distiller, the spirit is initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks. This gives its first base of soft vanilla and honey notes.
A proportion of the spirit is then lovingly transferred into the finest sherry casks, some of which have previously held rare and aged oloroso sherry. These are exclusively sourced from the world’s finest bodegas, including Gonzalez Byass. These personally curated sherry casks gift the whisky its rich nutty character.
The two styles are then reunited to create something magical.
Tasting notes: Starting with citrus fruits, chocolate and aromatic spices on the nose, flavours of Seville oranges, dried fruits and hints of vanilla pod follow, finished with notes of roasted coffee and dark chocolate.

Maturation journey: Under the watchful eye of our Master Distiller, the liquid is initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks. This gives its first base of soft vanilla and honey notes.
The whisky is then finished in different styles of sherry casks including Amoroso, rare Apostoles and Matusalem oloroso which are hand selected from world renowned bodegas, including Gonzalez Byass. Each sherry cask gifts the whisky with its own individual characteristics and flavours.
Tasting notes: Rich notes of orange marmalade, cinnamon and nutmeg make their presence felt on the nose, before giving way to tantalising notes of mandarin, vanilla, ginger and crushed apples. The finish brings a great abundance of caramelised orange, rich Christmas spice and deep dark chocolate to reward the palate.
The Dalmore King Alexander III: The epitome of handcrafted excellence
Maturation journey: Under the watchful eye of our Master Distiller, the spirit is initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks. This gives its first base of soft vanilla and honey notes. The whisky is then carefully apportioned between casks which have held 30-year-old Matusalem oloroso sherry and Tawny Port pipes. It is then brought back together to harmonise in a first-fill ex-bourbon cask, creating something truly exceptional.
Tasting notes: Time has gifted this whisky with aromas of exotic fruits whilst Madagascan vanilla pods, thick treacle toffee and chocolate truffles delight the palate. Maple syrup, bitter chocolate and spiced gingerbread combine to create a masterful finale befitting of this exceptional whisky.
