The Best New Restaurant in London – The Northall
Are you looking for the best new restaurant in London? Lussorian might have found it!
In the heart of London, just around the corner from Trafalgar Square lies the historic Luxury hotel, Corinthia. The building dates back to 1885 and has undergone the most fantastic refurbishment to emerge as one of London`s most cosmopolitan and staggeringly beautiful Hotels.
Opened in April this year, the hotel oozes style and elegance. With 294 rooms and suites, Corinthia has it all. Complete with London`s largest spa and wellness facility, destination bars and speciality restaurants, Corinthia has become one of my favourite London hotspots.
In particular, is the aesthetic wonder that is the Northall restaurant. Open and airy, relaxed and informal, The Northall is the best new restaurant in London. Fact.
Capable of 185 covers, and arranged over four areas, including two private dining areas, The Northall offers all day dining options.
The best new restaurant in London has a setting which is a perfect mix of contemporary and cool – now let`s talk about the food.
Headed up by three times Michelin starred chef Garry Hollihead, the Northall showcases all that is good about British seasonal ingredients. The menu is diverse yet not overwhelming, with the source of each product listed.
Hollihead has gone to great lengths to source unique and wholesome ingredients from artisan producers: beef from The Lake District Farm, Trealy Farm British charcuterie and the freshest fish from Dylan Bean`s day boats in Cornwall.
With a focus on wholly British suppliers, the restaurant also features a display of British cheeses sourced from La Cave which can be expertly paired with biodynamic and organic wines.
The restaurant features a state of the art wine preservation system allowing many of these wines to be enjoyed by the glass.
To start, I had Sliced Sea Scallops, Fermented Lemon Dressing with Micro Cress and Violets. One of the most beautiful dishes, both in looks and taste. Another member of my party chose Loch Var Smoked Salmon, which again hit the mark.
The English Asparagus And Goat`s Cheese Tart was also another well received starter. My table was left with empty plates, satisfaction and an eagerness to sample the mains, we knew we had stumbled over something very special at the Northall.
Before main course, I should mention the service. Simply outstanding. Accommodating and attentive, service as it should be, but sometimes lacking in other establishments. Joyfully, there was no pretension here either, which would be a real issue for me and London restaurant`s in particular.
The main event didn`t disappoint. The Roast Cornfed Goosnargh Duck, Dauphinoise and Buttered Hispi was the standout dish for me. Amongst our party, there was nothing short of perfection.
And that sums up the Northall. Perfection.
I have mentioned the stunning design of the restaurant, the excellent service and culinary talents, but there is another factor which needs to be mentioned.
The price. The Northall offers all this perfection in a superb central London location, but the prices are accessable and most welcome.
I urge you to check out the splendour of the Corinthia hotel and in particular, The best new restaurant in London – The Northall.
They do not know the meaning of disappointment.
