The Babylon Restaurant at The Roof Gardens review

The Babylon Restaurant at The Roof Gardens is a superb setting, tucked away on the 7th floor and high enough to take in London`s skyline. My only complaint with our dining experience was that the heavy rain had somewhat blinded our tremendous view and drenched us before we even entered this fine venue but we were seated right beside the roaring fire and I was ready to begin my seafood feast!

The A la Carte menu looked delicious and I chose wisely from the starter and main course list while I sipped slowly on my Sex on the Roof long cocktail. The staff, especially our waitress couldn`t have been more attentive and helped recommend the finest of foods which were perfect for our palettes throughout the evening.

My starter choice of Dorset crab tasted fresh and tingly with the hint of pink grapefruit it was combined with. The taste for seafood and meat followed by the Surf and Turf including a 28-day aged Ballindalloch rib eye of beef and Scottish langoustine, which were cooked to perfection and properly melted in the mouth! To complete my main course I would also have to recommend ordering a side of chunky hand cut chips, just to sample what the perfect chip tastes like!

By this time we had forgotten about the drastic weather conditions outside, I was very content, the room had filled with atmospheric chatter and I felt satisfied that this time round I had chosen well from the choice of dishes presented on the menu.

Overall Babylon was a memorable venue with fabulous staff and stunning dish combos for every palette to enjoy. It`s a shame I can`t recommend a dessert – but if I had made special room for it I would have chosen the Babylon Dessert Tasting Selection to share.
