Our Essential Summer Skincare products for 2023

Who doesn’t love a bit of sun, and we’ve had plenty of it of late. We’re constantly being reminded to take better care of our skin and avoid harmful rays when possible, and rightly so. So to prepare you for the holidays, we’ve scouted out 6 of our fave skincare products, and shared our experiences below. Happy holidays.

The Natural Africa Resurrection Moisturiser (50ml)

First up, and suitable for any skin type, this product will change your life. From unsmooth or bumpy skin to gorgeous smooth pores, Resurrection Moisturiser uses active botanicals (Resurrection Plant, Aloe Ferox, Mongongo, Baobab, and African Mahogany) to revive and protect your skin.

When applied just before bed, this product has helped me no end with unsightly spots, and leaves my skin feeling flawless. It has a lovely clean and natural/organic smell to it, and when applied, stays greasy for just a short while before absorbing, leaving the smoothest skin

According to the product marketing “The formula is rich in phenolic compounds, flavonoids, terpenoids, and bioflavonoids like robustaflavone that work together to promote rapid hydration, skin cell production, and protect the skin from environmental stressors”.

With a price point around the £95 mark, this is premium purchase, but rest assured this will go a very long way indeed.

How to use:

Step 1: Cleanse your skin in the morning and evening, and follow up with a serum that’s suitable for your skin type.
Step 2: Wait for a few minutes to allow the serum to absorb and for your skin to dry completely.
Step 3: Once your skin is dry, apply an appropriate amount of the Resurrection moisturiser to your face and neck, using gentle upward motions. Massage the moisturiser into your skin until it’s fully absorbed.

Visible Youth Multi-Action Eye Serum (15ml)

If you are anything like me and hayfever has had you looking and feeling a little tired round the eyes (understatement), then you are going to need a solid ‘go to’ serum. Voila!

Combining the brand’s patented Hyoglass™ Technology with oligopeptides, Alfalfa Seed and Lupin Seed Extract, this is a fantastic serum with a super-premium feel. It applies beautifully, is non greasy and absorbs in seconds. The results are almost instant, certainly from a sense of sense of skin firming and hydration, shortly followed by an air of radiance.

I’m really loving this product, and it appears I’m not alone either, (spoiler alert) the consumer evaluation is outstanding! Retailing for £65, this is also another one of those products that goes a long way.

How to use:

Step 1: Apply a small drop to cleansed skin by tapping gently around entire eye area, including eyelid until product is absorbed.
Step 2: Use one drop of serum as too much can negate the benefits.

Step 3: Gently tap the delicate skin around entire eye area, including eyelid until product is absorbed. The light pressure can stimulate lymphatic drainage.

Step 4: Use Multi-Action Eye Serum twice a day.

Step 5: Avoid getting the product into eyes.

Sarah Louisa Chamomile Fascial Cleansing Balm (26 grams)

Now this is a neat little product. Small enough to follow you round wherever you go, this is a make-up remover for your eyes and a cleanser for your face. It arrives beautifully packaged in a silver tin, accompanied by a golden spoon and bamboo cloth.

To touch this feels slightly greasy, rub between your fingers and it soon melts away. It almost feels like this is a barrier cream too that would be excellent for hydration and soothing.

I’ve used it for removing my make up for the last 3 nights, and the more I’m using, the more I’m liking. Quick word of warning though… don’t leave out in the heat as it will turn to oil pretty quickly!

You can tell there’s been an awful lot of love go into this balm and I can see BIG things for this brand.

How to use:

Step 1: Use the small spoon and gather the balm, then apply to the pads of the fingertips

Step 2: The product will melt into a smooth oil, then massage into your face and over closed eyes, eyelashes and lips

Step 3: Wet the bamboo cloth to wipe the skin and eyes clean

Vive CBD Concentrated Recovery Serum 30ml

From healing broken skin to fixing your pimples over time, this product is ideal for reducing the appearance of redness. The CBD element is said to help modulate our skin’s own ability to respond to challenges, mitigating the appearance of redness and blemishes, whilst the Vitamin B3 provides better moisture retention, minimizing wrinkles and redness, as well as protection from oxidative stress and sun damage. Lastly, the Zinc Oxide forms a protective layer on the skin to keep moisture in and external aggressors out.

This beautiful serum works perfectly with a few drops on the face overnight. It’s superfast absorbing and non-greasy and goes a long way. I’ve been using for a week now and have noticed a very real difference to the suppleness of my skin.

To sum up, I’d not hesitate to recommend this, it’s a well priced, premium product that will present positive differences in just a few days.
