Luxury Paresa Resorts Review Phuket, Thailand

Situated on a rocky cliff face near the town of Kamala, Paresa Resorts is a discreet hideaway with possibly one of the finest views in Phuket – nothing but stunning seascape. The sense of space creates an incredibly unique feeling of vitality and well being – this is feng shui at its finest.

What you will undoubtedly marvel at is the sheer feat of engineering that has taken place here, with what must have been an architects ‘wildest dream’ project. The scale of the development on what feels like a cliff face is awe inspiring. What’s more, the natural environment has been perfectly preserved with an abundance of wildlife to feast your eyes and camera lenses on.

Paresa Resorts has 49 individual villas, each with a sea view and undeniably you can see why this place is called the ‘heaven of all heavens’. We stayed in an Aqua Pool Villa near the boutique that contained its own infinity pool with access to both the lounge and bathroom, outdoor relaxation beds (rather like a four poster bed) and a small seating area, perfect for taking in the fabulous views. The bathroom was a magnificent space with his and hers sinks, toiletries and ample hanging/storage space for clothing and shoes. It also included a huge bath with stunning views of the ocean and an indoor and outdoor shower. The bedroom and lounge area were combined but separated by a flat screen TV and in the lounge there was a well stocked mini bar with Thai treats and more than enough quality tea and coffee to help yourself to. The bedroom on the other hand dominated the space with an inviting king size bed with the softest of bed linen and pillows. Whilst there is no immediate access from the resort to the beach, the private outdoor relaxation area, which isn’t overlooked, more than makes up for it.

Sadly, we didn’t get to see the other villas on offer, but they do range in features and space. For example, the six penthouse suites (Cielo Residences), are said to offer the ultimate in luxury living including the option of hiring the services of your very own butler! Also available are the Cliff Villas, these come with their own private wine cellar and the Talay Suites, which are designed to accommodate larger families or groups of friends. Finally, the Dima Pool Suites incorporate larger living spaces as well as their own private infinity pool, steam room and a spa area where your personal masseuse will arrive each day to give you a massage (included in the room rate). Taking into account this resorts facilities, location and accommodation we feel it’s perfect for couples looking to find or renew their love – there’s a romanticism about this place beyond words.

For those looking to explore the local area, Kamala Town and Beach is a short yet steep 10-minute Tuk Tuk ride away. The beach is adorned with intimate beach bars, and by making sure you arrive early at 5pm for Happy Hour you can almost certainly enjoy the sunset at around 6pm – it’s highly recommended and very romantic! For beach lovers, Paresa has its own Beach Club on Kamala Beach where you can use their complimentary sun loungers in between a quick or long dip in the tropical Andaman Sea. The hotel’s shuttle bus runs regularly to and from the beach, and in quieter periods you can often request this transport service whenever you need it.

Apart from enjoying some much deserved relaxation we were incredibly fortunate enough to have experienced a traditional Thai cookery lesson, which was taught by Noon, one of Paresa’s incredibly talented Thai chefs. We started the experience with an educational visit to the local market in Patong, which was packed full of fresh fish, meats, vegetables and fruit – it was definitely a feast for the senses and well worth getting up early to visit, especially for the keen photographer. We didn’t actually buy any ingredients, however it was great to learn all about some unfamiliar produce. When we got back to the hotel and after a half an hour break we made our way to RECIPE, Paresa’s famous cooking school, it’s a very spacious environment overlooking the ocean and absolutely idyllic for getting creative. We cooked four typical Thai dishes, which we ate after we had cooked them. On the ‘Thursday’ menu was an appetizer of Prawn Spring Rolls, Tom Yum Kai (Thai coconut soup), Phad Thai and a banana dessert, which we chose not to make. With Noon’s simple step-by-step instructions we knocked up the dishes in no time at all and it made us believe that we could actually have made it into the semi-finals of Thailand MasterChef with our newfound knowledge! If you’re a real foodie there’s nothing stopping you from learning something new each day, as the menu changes daily so if you want to get to grips with the delights of Thai cooking and suitably impress your friends back home then this definitely is an experience for you.Ç?¶ÿ

We also experienced the spa and indulged in a 60 minute Thai massage, where we could select the level of pressure to be applied. We had a couples suite complete with its own changing room and after our amazing treatment we sat out on our very own private balcony, admired the view and finished our spa experience with some lemongrass tea. A wide range of massages and beauty treatments are available, each performed by highly competent and incredibly strong Thai ladies.Ç?¶ÿ

During your entire stay, Paresa’s Angels (staff) are there to assist you in any way possible from arranging tours or ensuring your itinerary is absolutely perfect and there is no doubt you are in fine hands. No task is too great and with a genuine desire to make your stay a truly memorable one, this is Thai hospitality at its best.Ç?¶ÿ

To sum up, visit Paresa to fully escape, clear your mind, lose yourself in your own company and fully enjoy what has to be one of the finest hidden gems in Phuket. Whilst families are very welcome at Paresa we both agreed that leaving the kids at home was a very good move!
