The White Hart, South Harting – Review
Located in the picturesque South Downs, West Sussex and dating back to the 16th Century The white Hart nestles itself in the tiny but prosperous village of South Harting. A recent makeover has brought new life to this historic pub and the result is a charismatic mix of old and new with exposed beams, smart stone flooring, lightly colored walls and comfortable sofas and armchairs which provide a welcoming and gentrified atmosphere.
The roaring log fires (of which there are three) really do conjure up more than just a hint of ‘days gone by’ but doing so in a respectful modern way.
It’s a winning recipe that the owners have now sought to replicate in providing accommodation, One family room is available with 5 more on the way and the result is stunning – With its own entrance providing a feeling a privacy, the family room (you could almost call it a suite) has a vintage industrial style but a homely and chic finish, an enormous King-size bed welcomes you into the room and is accompanied by huge bunk beds for the kids (of any age) and a lovely bathroom that wouldn’t be out of place in any a high end boutique hotel.
Once Settled move down stairs to enjoy the classic pub food served up by friendly and down to earth staff.
So if you’re looking for an affordable night away with some great food and can’t get a babysitter! Then take them with you!
