Think Luxury Apartments, Tower Bridge – Review
Finding a place to stay in Central London that isn’t hideously overpriced, or your bog-standard Travelodge room, can be a tough ask. However, the `Think Apartments` chain, which can now be found in major London hotspots such as Earl’s Court and Tower Bridge, seems to have answered the need of those seeking convenience and luxury for business or pleasure stays. My partner and I had the pleasure of a one-night stay in a `Think Tower Bridge` apartment, a number of which have been converted from the old, disused Sarson`s vinegar-factory, losing none of their historic charm along the way.
Following our trouble-free arrival, full of anticipation we were led towards our apartment by the friendly and welcoming front of house manager, who described what we were about to encounter as ‘Harry Potter-esque’. As he led us through our new front door, up a winding wooden staircase, our eyes feasted upon the high vaulted ceiling, wooden beams and exposed brick walls – and we certainly saw what he meant! It`s no wonder why American tourists are clamouring to experience a night or two here.
Left alone, we delighted in exploring every nook and cranny of the spacious apartment, which comprised a large open-plan living, kitchen and dining space, and two en-suite bedrooms. The rustic warehouse interior, while having been renovated to a high standard, still retained many of its original features – imparting a sense of character and history unique to this part of London.
We planned to enjoy an evening in, making full use of the apartment`s facilities – cooking dinner in the well-appointed kitchen, and toasting our luck with a few glasses of Champagne along the way! A widescreen television and free access to WiFi would serve to keep most entertained. The apartment was a calm, quiet oasis, surprising for such a busy part of town, and we felt happily cocooned within its solid walls as a storm brewed outside, rain beating down upon the skylights. After a very comfortable night, we awoke rested and content – and certainly keen to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city at our doorstep.
The apartment was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean, meeting our needs well. Indeed, for a few nights’ stay, the apartment`s provisions were more than generous, for a comfortable stay with a bit of charm in the heart of London you need look never mind Think further!
