Egerton House Hotel, Boutique & Luxury Hotel in Knightsbridge, London

Staying at the Egerton House Hotel was an absolute pleasure. The location was perfect walking distance from Sloane Square where I had spent the last two days working and from the minute I stepped foot inside this warm, inviting and intimate hotel (just 28 rooms to be exact) it was reminiscent of walking into a private members club or some kind of luxury institute.

I was escorted to my deluxe queen room on the fourth floor and was given a comprehensive show around my temporary abode. Afterwards I learned that every little detail had been thought about, right from the Penhaligon’s toiletries, video iPods with docking station to complimentary WIFI, luxury tea & coffee making facilities and well stocked mini bar selection. This beautiful 5 star hotel had everything, and more, that made my stay the best it could be and although the whole hotel has been refurbished with fine fabrics and antique Italian furnishings, none of the character has been lost at all.

My particular room felt very luxurious and was decorated in high quality classic furnishings, which provided me with complete comfort and escapism. One thoughtful touch that I really did appreciate and was the fact that the management team is just incredibly aware of what single female guests are looking for when travelling. And, with all the guests I could tell during my stay that they truly loved staying here, as it was clear they had developed really good genuine friendships with each member of staff – seeing them relaxed, laughing and having fun was really nice to see.
On the first night I took advantage of the in-room film and dining entertainment package and afterwards had such a wonderful night`s sleep, something that can be a bit hit or miss when you`re staying in London due to loud traffic and noisy neighbourhoods. However, on closer inspection I noticed the curtains were thickly lined with a second inner curtain just for good measure and both sets were fixed to the wall ensuring no light would disturb and good nights sleep.

On the second night I went for dinner at Bistro K, a French bistro in South Kensington and on my return I thought it rude not to try Head Barman, Antonio`s signature sour apple martini, which I have to say was absolutely divine! He`s somewhat now a much-loved piece of the furniture and with 40 years of experience he`s renowned as one of the best bartenders in London – locals even drop by after work because they can`t get enough of Antonio`s Martini`s!

With all that taken into consideration I am definitely going to make it a priority to go back and stay at Egerton House Hotel. To round up, the location of this luxury boutique hotel was amazing, right in the heart Knightsbridge, the staff and management were incredibly helpful, friendly and genuine, something, which is hard to come by these days, and the general feel, ambience and lavishness was totally unforgettable.
