Efuel100

As an update to our story about the Microfueler we understand that the E-fuel Corporation have announced the full release of their product called the EFuel100 Microfueler.

E-Fuel Corporation claim that “this will be the first product that allows anyone to reduce their dependency on oil, greatly diminish their carbon footprint and produce fuel for under $1.00 per gallon”

The essence of the Efuel 100 is that it claims to be able to create sufficient ethanol from sugar, yeast and water plus some good old household 110-220 AC current to power your car. If you own your own bar, you might even save a buck or two by refining discarded alcohol to create dirt cheap ethanol for as little as $0.10 per gallon.

MicroFueler Availability

“E-Fuel is now accepting orders for the MicroFueler, and first shipments will begin in the fourth quarter of 2008. The EFuel100 MicroFueler is available in the United States at $9,995.00, and all initial orders require a deposit. The MicroFueler will also be distributed to China and Brazil. Consumers and interested resellers can also attend E-Fuel sponsored workshops to learn more about the MicroFueler operation.”

Could this be the panacea to rising oil prices? I still have my doubts over the cost of raw materials – i.e sugar….. But in theory it’s a great idea.
