Even E1 Headphones with EarPrint Technology Reviewed
The cutting edge Even E1 headphones are some of the smartest headphones around. Thanks to EarPrint technology, these nifty ear pieces can map your ear, in order to provide the very best sound for you. The outcome is a listening experience that is like no other, quite literally!
What is EarPrint technology?
Here is what Even say on the tech… Thanks to a new cutting-edge technology and in-depth studies into psychoacoustics, Even has designed its headphones to feature a personal ear test – tailoring the sound output to individual preferences. This quick and easy hearing test tunes music to fit individual users’ hearing, meaning they will never skip a beat or miss a note again. The hearing test is stored until reset, allowing users to enjoy music from any source – at any time. Each ear is tuned to a specific frequency, allowing for a safer and more precise listening experience.
The test to set these headphones takes a couple of minutes and you must click the buttons on the device control unit whilst listening to a range of noises. However, once done, you can choose to listen using the E1s EarPrint technology, or you can chose to use them without. This provides a clear indication as to the impact of the EarPrint and showed us that the technology really, really works. For me, the bass was rich and the sound detailed throughout, far more so than when the EarPrint technology was not active. Even promise 12 hours of continuous playback with your unique settings, therefore giving more than enough time to enjoy a long haul flight or the morning commute. Once depleted, simply hook up the micro USB for a charge – easy.
Technically, the sound is superb (especially using the EarPrint setting) and this is down to 10mm dynamic drivers and a unique shell design, which aims to optimise the driver performance. Leakage is minimal when listening and we found them to be comfortable too.
Other neat features include handsfree calling (which is pretty much standard on headphones now days), they are super lightweight, plus the cables are tangle resistant for easy storage in the provided case. There’s also a range of tips included for all ear sizes.
