Part 2 – Our Luxury Stay in Marrakech at Les Borjs de la Kasbah

Marrakech was first on our travel itinerary and we were booked on the very first flight out of Gatwick to Morocco. We stayed at one of the most luxury hotels in marrakesh called Les Borjs de la Kasbah, which is owned by Mike and his French wife who have lovingly dedicated a huge part of their life to creating the perfect ambience in a city that never sleeps.

We were collected from the airport by our chauffeur who drove us directly to the front door, which is rare as most riads can`t be accessed at all from the main roads. This spacious boutique hotel situated directly next to one of the Royal Palaces included a swimming pool, 18 bedrooms, spa and restaurant (offering some incredible traditional and delicious food) in fact some of the best we ate in Marrakech! The riad situated a short walk from the hustle and bustle of the main square this beautiful oasis is the perfect place to relax whilst absorbing the Moroccan culture all around.

Mike`s team of incredibly professional and friendly staff ensured our stay was nothing but perfect, we experienced lovely genuine people such a huge contrast in personality from the locals on the street hassling us left, right and centre. Having taken a 10 minute walk from the riad, up the main road this led us directly into the centre of Marrakech and the legendary Djemáa el-Fna square where you`ll see snake charmers, storytellers, the famous Souk entrances and of course a culture that is like no other!

Marrakech itself has very few sites to visit but the route on the Red Tourist Bus (hopping on and off) will suffice and definitely ensures you won`t be hassled. Les Borjs de la Kasbah is a fantastic choice if you want to relax in the surroundings of this riad or venture the sites at your leisure and the pool was certainly welcomed in the blistering heat and luckily for us not many riads in the city can boast this feature.

After three days of much deserved rest and relaxation we were ready for Part 2 of our Moroccan adventure – The Atlas Mountains !
