There is a particular kind of luxury that operates in silence — not the absence of effort, but the disappearance of it. The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra sits firmly in that category. It is a machine that does not ask much of you, yet returns an extraordinary amount. This is not a snap judgement: we have lived with the P50 Pro Ultra across several months of daily use, testing it methodically across room types, floor surfaces, and every mode it offers before committing to a verdict. What follows is a review earned through time. And the conclusion, reached across both hard floors and carpets in real domestic conditions, is that this is one of the most capable and intelligently engineered robot vacuum-mop combinations available today.

First Impressions: Design Meets Discretion

The P50 Pro Ultra arrives with a quiet assurance about it. The unit is slim at 103.8mm — low enough to glide beneath most contemporary furniture — and carries a refined aesthetic that does not look out of place in a considered interior. Its dock, which handles everything from dust emptying to mop washing and drying, is a substantial piece of engineering dressed in restrained, contemporary form. This is not a device that embarrasses itself in a living room.

Performance: Where It Earns Its Stripes

The headline specification is 19,000Pa of suction power, and it earns that number. Across both hard flooring and carpet, the pickup is thorough and decisive. Fine dust, pet hair, larger debris — the P50 Pro Ultra deals with all of it without hesitation. The CleanChop™ anti-tangle brush system handles hair particularly well, and we encountered none of the clogging that plagues less sophisticated machines.

The MOVA’s FlexRech™ technology — an extendable side brush and mop that push into right-angle edges and under furniture — delivers exactly what it promises. Skirting boards and the undersides of low cabinetry, areas that typically require manual intervention, are addressed with precision. Edge-to-edge coverage is genuine rather than aspirational.

On carpets, the automatic mop removal and carpet boost mode work seamlessly together. When transitioning from hard floor to rug, the machine lifts its mop pads and increases suction without any instruction from the user. It is, in the truest sense, intelligent.

The Mopping System: A Genuine Step Forward

This is where the P50 Pro Ultra distinguishes itself most clearly from comparable machines we have trialled. The mopping system does not merely dampen the floor and call it clean — it delivers a noticeably deeper result. The dual rotary mops, combined with 32 adjustable moisture settings for different floor types, produce results that feel considered rather than cursory.

The self-cleaning dock cycle is faultless. Mop pads are washed at 75°C, dried with warm air at 45°C, and the 20-spray-nozzle washboard scrubs them thoroughly between cycles. The system auto-refills its cleaning solution and water tank, and the 3.2L dust bag handles up to 75 days of autonomous dust collection before requiring attention. In practice, the P50 Pro Ultra simply gets on with things.

Mapping & Intelligence: Exceptional Navigation

MOVA’s 4-level 3D mapping system is among the most capable we have encountered. The machine builds and retains an accurate model of the home, navigates around everyday obstacles — shoes, bags, cables — with composure, and climbs thresholds up to 22mm without complaint. No-go zones, room-by-room cleaning modes, and customised moisture levels by floor type are all managed through the MOVA Home app with minimal effort. The RGB camera and intelligent dirt detection further enable the machine to identify spills and respond automatically, without waiting to be told.

Voice assistant compatibility — Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri — is seamless, and the Apple Watch integration is a considered touch for those who prefer to keep their phone in another room. Remote monitoring via the camera adds a layer of reassurance for households with pets.

Where It Falls Short

In the spirit of honest review, two modes delivered inconsistent results in our experience. The combined Vac & Mop mode — designed to vacuum and mop simultaneously — occasionally left faint dust trails rather than achieving the clean pass one would expect. The issue is sporadic rather than constant, but worth noting.

More significantly, the Quiet Vac mode — intended for minimal-disruption cleaning — failed in our testing to deliver meaningful suction. In practice, the trade-off between noise reduction and performance appears too steep, and we found ourselves bypassing the mode entirely in favour of standard settings, which are themselves pleasingly unobtrusive in a well-proportioned space.

These are refinements rather than failings. Without them, this would be a five-star machine without qualification.

The Verdict

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra is a genuinely impressive piece of domestic technology. Its mopping credentials set it apart from the majority of the market, its navigation and mapping are class-leading, and the self-maintaining dock system removes virtually all of the inconvenience traditionally associated with robot vacuums. Performance across hard floors and carpets is excellent.

Two specific modes underperform relative to the rest of the machine’s capabilities — but they do not define it. For those seeking a premium robot vacuum that does the difficult work quietly and well, the P50 Pro Ultra is a compelling and confident choice.
