The Milanese Hotel Principe di Savoia`s world famous Presidential Suite has had a face lift!
The hotel, which is part of the Dorchester Collection have recently completed the suite refurb which has hosted some of the biggest movie and music stars as well as royalty. I`m talking Queen Elizabeth II, George Clooney, Lenny Kravitz and Woody Allen, to name a few. At a cost of $16000 per night it’s also one of the most expensive hotel suites in the World, and it’s easy to see why…
Following his direction of the Suite`s initial redesign in 1992, architect Michael Stelea, has now created a synergy between the extremely elegant and refined, classically designed rooms and the latest technology of the modern generation. Moreover, the living room and each of the three bedrooms, have individual personal touches that add a little extra interest and sense of unique style.
The Presidential Suite, located on the 10th floor of the hotel, is over 500 square metres and offers its guests oppulance to the extreeme. In the first bedroom, the sumptuous emerald-green velvet walls are entirely decorated with brassy nails giving a beautiful boiserie effect and these are, in turn, completed by elegant Damascus-style curtains. In the second bedroom the striking headboard is the highlight of the room, while the walls are embellished with the finest handcrafted wall-paintings showing the most exclusive views of the famous Paris Bagatelle Gardens.
The gem of the prestigious newly refurbished suite is the Master Bedroom though, from the Damascus straw-coloured walls produced by Rubelli House, to the bespoke carpet especially created for the Principe di Savoia in Thailand and inspired by an Aubusson design.
The living room overlooks the Pompeian style private swimming-pool, with muralled walls, polychrome marble tiles and a wide pool with dolphin mosaics. To top it all off, a water massage, sauna and Turkish bath are the finishing striking elements of this pearl of Italian tellerie.
