Frimley Hall Hotel & Spa – Review
The Frimley Hall Hotel & Spa is one of the 48 Macdonald Hotels & Resorts across United Kingdom and is situated near Camberley Surrey. It has 98 bedrooms, all ensuite and non-smoking.
The original Frimley Hall was a private residence dating back to 19th century and was acquired just before outbreak of WW 11 by the Spears family who specialised in converting old buildings into modern day usage, this is when Frimley Hall began its beginnings as a Hotel.
The hotel underwent a £5 million refurbishment a few years back that included a new `VITAL` Health and Beauty Spa.
In addition all rooms are with air-cooling, free broadband access, mini bars, fresh contemporary décor and furnishings, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, trouser press and Sky television. Many rooms have excellent views over tree lined and rhododendron bushes in well manicured gardens where ample outdoor tables and seating is provided.
Entrance to the Hotel complex is well off set from the M3 and surrounding main roads, adequately signposted. The immediate observation is a magnificent Victorian building surrounded by very mature trees that provide an exclusive ambiance. On arrival a very helpful young lady, who was able to provide all the information required to fulfil our stay, greeted us. Having settled into our room we were delighted to receive a glass of champagne each and a complimentary box of beautifully presented chocolates.
Our accommodation comprised of a very spacious suite of rooms with a 4-poster double bed, lounge with easy chairs, TV in both rooms and excellent views of the grounds through the large leaded glass windows. The bathroom comprised of a separate shower, bath, toilet, washbasin, dressing gowns and many toiletries, which all added to a memorable stay.
The Spa incorporated as well as a fully equipped gym, a 17 metre beautifully clean indoor heated swimming pool, rock sauna room, aromatic steam room, and relaxation area. In addition within the complex were 5 softly lit treatment rooms offering a range of pampering treatments.
The Hotel is able to offer conference facilities in the new Frimley Suite air-conditioned room for up to 230 delegates including free broadband access with lounge and bar facilities. In addition the Frimley Suite and White Room are licensed for civil wedding ceremonies.
In the Linden Restaurant there was a fine selection of both meat and fish dishes including provision for vegetarians. Our meal was complimented with an excellent bottle of Chardonnay. Breakfast the following morning was a choice of English Traditional or Continental expressing the superior service as we had received throughout our stay at Frimley Hall Hotel & Spa.
