Louis XIII Le Jeroboam Launch

We recently attended the official launch of Louis XIII`s latest edition to their already impressive cognac collection – Le Jeroboam. The venue, why central Paris of course – the impressive Palais de Chaillot to be more precise.

Only 100 guests were lucky enough to attend the launch in a banquet setting, which had a full length view of the Eiffel Tower. Stunning!

After a delicious three course meal comprising of Foie Gras, succulent lamb followed by strawberry and rhubarb deserts, one soft, one with crunch and lemon fruit sorbet we were presented a short and rather creative French movie and then given the opportunity to meet it`s actors.

The event reached its finale with the cellar master, Pierrette Trichet opening a cask of Louis XIII and supplying every guest with a glass of this fine cognac to toast Le Jeroboam. The event was incredible from start to end – one of those `money can`t buy experiences`, which we feel incredibly lucky to have attended.

Now, more about the product – Le Jeroboam, which retails for $16,000, has been limited to just 100 three litre decanters (which is 4 times the volume of the regular Louis XIII decanter) Worldwide. The decanters themselves are 5kg works of art produced by Cristallerie de Sévres.

A bottle of Le Jeroboam comes with its own pipette, the working and tasting tool of Rémy Martin cellar masters, inviting each owner of the decanter to act out this century-old ceremony.

So, overall a very impressive launch for an exceptionally impressive brand. Thank you for the invitation Rémy Martin.
