Find Your Summer Style With Finlay & Co. Sunglasses

British Summer is here and although that might mean the odd dash of rain, it also means that it’s time to consider a brand new pair of sunnies. Let’s face it, no look is complete without them. Finlay & Co. sunglasses are designed by fabulous British artists from a studio in central London, but that is just one of many reasons to get behind them and to seriously consider their unique eyewear this Summer. We were lucky enough to get our hands on a pair of the Bowery Light Tortoise Shell sunglasses (below) and we were very impressed. The glasses, although designed in Britain, have been hand crafted in a 32 stage meticulous process in Italy. They are made from the finest mazzucchelli acetate and come complete with Carl Zeiss lenses with full UVA/UVB protection. A rather quirky addition to these particular sunglasses is the key-hole nose bridge, which is a welcome flourish and one that elevates these sunglasses somewhat. For £140 these sunglasses really are a snip. The quality of the build and the aesthetics are up all up their with any other high-end eyewear brands. Fun, quirky and unique – there is a lot to love here. As you would expect, The Bowery comes complete with foldable Finlay & Co. case and cleaning cloth.

If The Bowery sunglasses are not for you there are plenty of gorgeous alternatives to consider. In fact, for the past 12 months or so, Finlay & Co. have also been collaborating with premier Single Malt Scotch Whisky brand Glenmorangie for an eye wateringly beautiful pair of unique sunglasses.

The “Glenmorangie sunglasses” have been designed and handcrafted to display the natural character and unique grain of the original whisky casks from which these sunglasses have been made from.

By re-cutting and deconstructing the staves of each of these casks, then stripping them down to fine layers and cross-bonding them against the grain, we have created a collection of sunglasses which combine strength and lightness whilst showcasing the individual character of the original casks.

Each pair of Glenmorangie sunglasses has gone through a rigorous 16-step craftsmanship process here in Britain, with each cask producing about 60 pairs of sunglasses. Just 1,843 pairs of sunglasses have been made, celebrating the year in which the Glenmorangie Distillery was founded, 1848 and each are individually numbered.
