The Pentheroudakis boutique, luxury Greek jewellery
Pentheroudakis is a brand we can guarantee you’ve not heard of. During a recent trip to the Greek Peloponnese we stumbled across this brand by pure chance and wanted to share the delights of their iconic jewellery. The brand was established almost 70 years ago and has remarkably remained in the same family all this time having passed through three generations to date. In fact, you’ll find the Pentheroudakis boutique thriving in Athens within the luxury epicenter which is Voukourestiou street, near Syntagma square.
Pentheroudakis specialize in fine yet simplistic jewellery that takes inspiration from Greek culture, art as well as the rich history that’s in abundance. Continuing the incredible work of her forefathers, Alexia Pentheroudakis is the current designer, who crafts her collections from 18k gold as well as Sterling Silver, which has only recently been introduced to her ranges. Harry, Alexia’s brother is also heavily involved in the business, and whilst Alexia leads the design team, Harry deals more in the commercial side of the business.
Besides the two stores in Athens, Pentheroudakis jewellery is now on display in special corner stores, at the premium Grace hotel in Santorini, in Crete (Akti Zeus) at the Kinsterna estate (where we discovered it) and at a concept store in Berlin, Germany. The brand will shortly be launching their online store.
Below you can see a selection of Alexia’s ‘Olive Tree’ collection, which is obviously inspired by the Olive tree, which is a symbol of peace and wisdom and also plays an important part in mythical Greece.
Cuff bracelet handcrafted in Sterling Silver -18karat gold plated and oxidized.
“Y” necklace handcrafted in Sterling Silver -18karat gold plated and oxidized.
Our favorite has to be the “Bands” collection, which is inspired by the flow of various curves and lines set to create interesting shapes. Circles represent infinity and timelessness.
Ring in Sterling Silver -18karat gold plated, comes also in white or oxidized.
