The new One and Only hotel Cape Town

A brand new One and Only super hotel has just been opened in Cape Town. Costing a staggering £75 m ($150m approx) the hotel was the brainchild of Sol Kerzener who duly invited as many A-list celebs as he possibly could for the grand opening.

Celeb aristocracy included: Sharon Stone, Robert De Niro, Clint Eastwood, Mariah Carey, Morgan Freeman, Thandie Newton and Marisa Tomei – whilst some appropriate food was knocked up by the ubiquitous Gordon Ramsay and Nobu Matsuhisa.

Obviously money was no object for Mr Kerzner as his wife Heather rolled out the red carpet to the world’s elite.

Even Nelson Mandela got involved by lunching with Mr Kerzner.

The new One and Only is rated six star and incorporates 130 rooms. The design is by Capetonian architects Dennis Fabian Berman and Ruben Reddy.
