Spice Market – Award Winning Asian Brunch in London’s West End

Bored by December’s roast dinners Lussorian decided to swap lunch with brunch this week and try out a new breakfast menu at the fantastic Spice Market restaurant in London’s West End.

Tucked away from the shopping mayhem next to the W Hotel on Wardour Street, this striking asian eatery provides a welcome oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly Circus. Once inside visitors are immediately transported to the far-east thanks to a dark, softly lit, exotic interior where jars of saffron, turmeric and cinnamon line the walls and custom designed wok-lights hang low over black lacquered tables and cosy leather booths.

Friendly staff talk you through the breakfast options ( you can mix it up and share dishes or go solo with your preferred choice) then offer you a cocktail menu where old classics are given an eastern twist, I can personally vouch for the Ginger Margarita and my partner loved his Thai Bloody Mary with basil and chilli, it had one hell of a kick!

Similarly all plates are offer a South East Asian spin on brunch classics. The Cornish crab and scrambled egg flavoured with paprika tasted far more exciting that any sunday comfort food I’ve ever made, and as for the delicately spiced french toast with passion fruit …it had hardly hit the table before my partner had practically inhaled it (apparently it was very good!). I attempted a slightly healthier option by tucking into some house-made granola with tart lemongrass yogurt and a bittersweet mango parfait, just wonderful. Committed foodies will perhaps already know all about the award winning black pepper shrimp with sun dried pineapple which the team insisted we try- utterly delicious, no wonder it’s so popular.

Forget the boring salads and rye crispbreads this month, detox with a difference and treat your tastebuds to a brand new experience at Spice Market, there’s no better way to beat the blues than an Asian Brunch!
