Is this the perfect luxury Christmas breakfast?
Christmas morning has to be the most indulgent of the year, there are no half measures and no excuses. That’s why we have created this mini guide to the most luxurious breakfast you can have at home this Christmas. For us, this delectable duo from Nicolas Feuillate and Forman & Field are absolutely perfect for an indulgent, luxurious and fairly extravagant Christmas morning.
Nicolas Feuillatte Palmes D’or Brut Vintage Champagne, 75cl (£85)
This show stopping gift set from Nicolas Feullatte is a must hva for that special occasion. The champagne is a balanced blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in equal measure. According to the brand, Palmes d’Or Brut encapsulates the perfect alliance of finesse and structure. The result is powerful and memorable champagne. Fresh, yet accompanied by a light berry aroma and with a strong finish, this is a champagne to enjoy and savour. Light golden in colour, this is a thoroughly refined and elegant offering. The champagne is now available at John Lewis for a reasonable £85.
Forman & Field
Forman & Field is a London based producer of super high quality food and drink. Their website is a treasure trove of culinary delights and treats at the upmost level of quality and luxury. Very few purveyors of fine food can boast such an opulent collection. We were lucky enough to sample some of their products for this piece and we were not disappointed. In fact, we were totally won over!
Forman’s Cured & Smoked Salmon Platter (£35.95)
Our favourite way of starting any morning is with a generous helping of salmon, in particular smoked salmon. This Christmas, Forman & Field have created a spectacular Cured & Smoked Salmon Platter for the most ardent of connoisseurs.
The platter includes the finest Scottish salmon prepared a number of ways here in the H. Forman & Son Smokehouse. Including a taster platter containing four slices each of London Cure (Grade One) and Genuine Wild Smoked Salmon, Royal Fillet, three types of gravlax (beetroot, wasabi and Gin & Tonic) and 100g of Kiln-roasted Salmon (smoked and cooked). We have sampled the Forman & Field Grade A smoked salmon and it has to be one of the finest we have tasted. A simply sublime flavour. So, we can certainly suggest that this collection, is a must buy for Christmas Day 2016.
Forman & Son Arbroath Smokies (only £10.95)
With my partner being Scottish and not too far from Arbroath itself, these smokies immediately took our eye. According to chef Nick Nairn these are “one of the world’s great taste experiences”. In case you didn’t know, smokies are pairs of haddock (as opposed to herring or kippers) tied at the tail. They are then very carefully dry salted and smoked to unctuous perfection. Full of flavour and still as indulgent as the Salmon, try these Smokies as an alternative to your typical Christmas morning fayre.
