The Aberdeen Asset Management Great Scot Awards 2012 take place on November 27th at Boisdale, the luxury restaurant group that founded the awards in 2009.
The awards celebrate the best in Scottish Fashion, Film & Theatre, Literature & the Arts, Music, Charity, Media and Sport and saw Annie Lennox pick up the Great Scot Award last year.
Martin Gilbert, chief executive of Aberdeen Asset Management, said of the sponsorship: `we`re delighted to be supporting the Great Scot Awards which celebrates the best in Scottish arts, charity, sports and initiative. Their reach spreads far beyond our shores and ensures that Scotland continues to be recognised as a place that fosters talent.`
Iconic Scottish artist and a former winner, Jack Vettriano, renowned for his painting `The Singing Butler` which sold at Sotheby`s for close to £750,000, is creating an exclusive never before seen painting especially for the Great Scot Awards 2012 and the night of the awards will be the first time that it has ever been seen.
This work of art will surely attract significant interest from collectors and enthusiasts the world over and the aim is to raise well over £100,000 on the night with all of the auction prize money being donated to a selection of Scottish charities.
Johnnie Walker Blue Label Whisky, a constant supporter of the awards since 2009, will again be sponsoring the event. You can find out more about the Great Scot Awards 2012 HERE.
