Luxury Hotel in Weybridge – Brooklands Hotel Surrey Review
For those of us that live in the fast lane juggling work, kids and family life, every now and again we all need some down time to recharge. Brooklands Hotel in Weybridge, Surrey is one of those luxurious hidden gems with some excellent facilities to take advantage of, and it’s great for couples or groups that are serious about indulging. It’s located on the site of the historic Brooklands racetrack opposite the prestigious Mercedes Benz World so guests are in for a truly thrilling experience!
The hotel is modern, spacious and tastefully decorated in a contemporary style. If you’re staying overnight there is a fabulous choice of deluxe and executive rooms with track facing rooms as well as suites and panoramic suites with balconies. I would recommend upgrading to a suite with a balcony, it’s one of those experiences you will never forget – simply hearing the noise from the race track is exhilarating and exciting to watch.
Our beautifully furnished Kay Petre suite was around 100 square metres in size making it a fantastic space for us to really enjoy during our stay. Instead of using the hotel lounge and sitting areas we simply hibernated in our room and enjoyed – a total contrast to what our normal everyday lives can present us with. The suite comprised of a roomy dining area, lounge with corner sofa and an executive desk, as well as a dressing area with two large wardrobes, one good-sized bedroom (some have two!) and an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. It’s essentially your own luxury apartment for the night.
As well as enjoying our suite we indulged in some treatments in B Spa. The spa itself is a good size. In both the male and female changing rooms guests can use the steam room and sauna, and in the public areas there is a hot tub outside overlooking the racetrack, a relaxation area and a meditation room – and even though you don’t have to pay to use this you have to book a slot, which means you can have a private session with your partner or group of friends, which is a really nice touch. Behind the reception area there is additional seating for guests to enjoy a coffee, afternoon tea or a light lunch, and it’s also a relaxed space where you can feel relaxed in your robes and slippers. Further down the corridor there is a separate fitness suite that is well equipped with some fantastic gym equipment. Unfortunately there isn’t a pool so I would say that if you were coming to enjoy the spa then it’s a must to make the most of the treatments – I can certainly recommend the relaxing 50 minute body hydration & balance treatment and you can never go far wrong with a Shellac manicure.
Another highlight is that Brooklands Hotel has a stunning 1907 bar and grill restaurant, which is a fantastic space. The restaurant and cocktail bar offers a stylish experience that is modern and contemporary in both ambience and service, all set within a 1920’s and 30’s décor inspired setting. Having been awarded two AA Rosettes, the restaurant is very proud to present some delicious lunch and evening a la carte menus and we couldn’t wait to try its culinary delights. To start, we chose the scallops and mussels and each dish was absolutely divine and beautifully cooked. For our main course we went for the 600g 28-Day Dry Aged, Chateaubriand and it was truly an exquisite experience to share, it came with fries and was served with an additional two side dishes and two sauces of your choice – more than enough and again, it was cooked to absolute perfection! I was pleased I hadn’t ordered room service beforehand, as the portions were generous and fulfilling. We weren’t going to have a dessert but we were so tempted by the menu options our fine dining experience finished on a high with a sumptuous velvety chocolate mousse. Our experience here would tempt us back again to dine in the restaurant alone; we were taken aback with the friendly service we received and outstanding quality of the dishes we had to eat.
Overall this hotel has something special to offer, as it’s nestled within a unique location, it offers some fabulous and affordable packages for all the family to enjoy and I can see why guests choose to host parties, corporate events and weddings here… because they want something of quality off the beaten track. Whatever your requirements (intimate or over the top grandeur) we would thoroughly recommend considering Brooklands Hotel for any occasion, as we are sure their flexibility will ensure they can deliver exactly the vision you have for your special event.
