Luxury custom made wine by Crushpad
If you’ve ever endeavoured to produce some home made wine, you’ll appreciate what a difficult, forlorn process it can be!
However, an innovative company called Crushpad is offering a service that enables you to make your very own luxury custom made wine, under expert tutelage.
Crushpad say:
“Crushpad enables wine enthusiasts to create individual barrels of their own high-end Californian and/or Bordeaux wine. They are a `custom` winery that helps would-be winemakers fulfil their dreams without having to change careers – unless they want to. The company makes it easy by providing access to grapes from well known vineyards, state-of-the-art equipment, temperature-controlled storage, packaging and the all-important help from resident professional oenologists.”
The idea is the the brainchild of Silicon Valley whizkid Michael Brill who started growing grapes for fun in his backyard.
As a result Crushpad was launched in 2004 and last year achieved 5,000 clients – including wine enthusiasts, professional winemakers, fine wine retailers and restaurants. The business has grown to include an operation in Bordeaux located in Saint Emilion which is run under the watchful eye of owner/winemaker, Jonathan Maltus.
