Lifehouse – Spa & Hotel, Essex – Review

For those looking to find some real rest and relaxation whilst enjoying great food and comfortable accommodation, The Lifehouse Spa and Hotel offers you the ultimate all-in-one Spa experience. Set in 12 acres of listed grounds, The Lifehouse is a unique building that combines the old with the new, incorporating traditional features of Thorpe Hall, the original Manor House, into its new contemporary design.

The first thing to greet us when we walked into the Hotel was the wonderful smell of the fresh bouquets of flowers in reception and the warm glow from the log fire, a very welcoming start to our stay. We were then met by one of the friendly Wellness Practitioners from the Spa who welcomed us to the Hotel and explained the ethos behind the Lifehouse, the Spa experience here takes a holistic approach to treatment, focusing on the mind, body and spirit to achieve the perfect life-health balance.

Once settled into our spacious `Signature Room` that overlooked some of the impressive grounds we donned our robes and made our way to the Spa and Hydrotherapy centre. The range of treatments on offer here is endless, whether you choose a facial, massage, detox or nutritional based treatment you can be sure to find one that suit your needs. Alternatively, for a real treat you can opt for a fully personalised program of complimentary treatments designed to suit the individual. The onsite naturopath, personal trainers, therapists and wellness practitioners are all on hand to ensure that you are well looked after on your journey to well being.

After a Full Body Massage in one of the numerous treatment rooms, we took some time to relax in `Heat`, the Thermal Spa. First we entered the salt-inhalation room that awakens your senses and leaves you feeling revived and energised, particularly when followed by a dip in the plunge pool, a truly refreshing experience! Alternatively if you are feeling a bit more active you can go for a swim in the mood-lit pool, take a relaxing stroll in the gardens or even go for a full workout in the gym. In addition The Lifehouse Spa offers beauty treatments in the a `Forget-Me-Knots Salon` situated alongside Juice Bar and Relaxation area. However long your stay, there are plenty of activities to keep you busy and relaxed throughout the day.

After a hard day of pampering, you can unwind in the Orchids Bar or enjoy a delicious meal in the WaterLilies Restaurant. The food here matched the ethos of the Hotel, well balanced, indulgent and leaving you wanting more. The Chef had carefully selected and paired the best of locally sourced ingredients to give you a taste of delicious, fresh and modern British cuisine.

The Lifehouse Hotel & Spa offers Memberships, Spa Breaks and now `Wellbeing Programs` for Corporate groups, with an introduction into how to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle for the busy working professional. A great option for an alternative Corporate or team building event with a very positive outcome.
