IZE Canggu, Bali Review

Located in a quieter part of Canggu, within a 200m stroll from Pererenan Beach, IZE Canggu is an impressive hip and homely hotel, and member of Lifestyle Retreats, which stands proud. 

This newly built hotel is modern and chic with a cool seaside resort feel, perfect for short-stay holidaymakers and longer-stay digital nomads to call home. 

The light-filled Deluxe bedrooms are designed with Tropical style and simplicity. Some have direct access to the pool, while others have their own private veranda. The choice is yours!

Courtyard rooms provide a serene escape and a haven of tranquility, featuring a cosy lounge area with plush sofas, and their own private mini garden – a breath of fresh air in Bali!

We stayed in one of the five Loft rooms, perfect for a family, or friends travelling together. This flexible two-storey space comprises of two-level rooms with bedrooms located both on the upper and lower levels, along with a generous sofa bed to chill out on in the downstairs living area.

Lastly, for those who desire the ultimate romantic hideaway, the signature IZE Suite is the perfect choice. This includes a substantial bathroom complete with a romantic, freestanding bathtub and it’s also equipped with a Nespresso machine, and a Harman Kardon bluetooth speaker, providing some key home-from-home luxuries. Outside, there’s a lovely outdoor terrace where you can enjoy your daily breakfast, afternoon snacks and sunset pre-dinner cocktails. This is a fabulous place to take in many stunning views of the lush green rice fields and the glistening ocean in the distance.

Aside from the chic choice of rooms, Malibu restaurant provides an informal open air dining area with some great dishes to choose from. Salad bowls, soups, pizza or pasta and an array of tasty main dishes will tempt you in for a casual lunch or snacks with friends, travelling companions or co-workers.

For evening rendezvous, continue up the stairs from Malibu and discover a fabulous rooftop terrace with uninterrupted 360 degree views. It really is a hidden gem where you can be enveloped by the stream of magical sunsets, which Canggu never fails to deliver. 

IZE has a courtyard with its own luxury pool and seating areas. A stunning sea scene mural sets the tone, and a bar serving cocktails, beers or soft drinks is just a few feet away. There are loads of beanbags and beds available to relax on, and the service, as ever, is impeccable.

We loved the location of IZE Canggu, as it is incredibly convenient. You’re a stones throw away from cool restaurants and cafes, and just 10 minutes from the beach, making this hotel a fabulous choice for indulging in exhilarating morning surfs, choosing to chill by the pool in-between Zoom calls or grabbing a casual East-meets-West inspired lunch.
