Hansar Luxury Boutique Hotel Bangkok Review

Upon arrival we were quickly shown to the reception area on the first floor where swift and efficient check in procedures were completed. Scented cold towels and welcome drinks later, we were shown to our room on the 17th floor.

What a delightful surprise it was. Upon entering our suite we discovered our very own unique interior garden wall. Adjacent to the door, in an enclosed area, lush green tropical plants adorned the wall and instantly we felt transported away from the hustle and bustle of city life to our own slice of tropical beauty and tranquility. This really was a sanctuary! The silk panelled walls and the subtle colour co-ordination in soothing shades of green, set amidst the wooden and marble fittings, just oozed luxury of the very finest quality. We stayed in one of the ‘Edge Suites’ which, with it’s vast number of seemingly endless floor to ceiling mirrors, felt unbelievably spacious. The lounge area featured a one-of-a-kind cantilevered daybed which provided us with an intimate niche from which we could watch the world go by way down beneath us. There was also a very large granite stone topped desk and a sitting area with a large flat screen TV where we could enjoy the plentiful complimentary range of snacks and non-alcoholic drinks which are replenished daily. It quickly became apparent that not only had everything that we could possibly need already been catered for, but there were also many additional thoughtful gestures, such as a welcome bunch of beautiful orchids, a platter of fruit and a selection of exquisite chocolates. Also available were a DVD player, and an iPod docking system. A floor to ceiling solid wooden sliding door, mirrored on both sides led through to the bedroom where the sublimely comfortable bed with its feathery soft pillows and unique silk and metallic beaded headboard, designed by the renowned Thai artist Kachama, was the height of luxury. Here too was another plasma TV. The subtle seductive lighting, with some lights strategically placed to provide a dimmed nighttime glow, further enhanced the timeless elegance and sophisticated ambience of our haven of retreat. The spacious and plush bathroom and dressing area most certainly had the ‘wow’ factor with wood and stone blending in perfect harmony. Decadent glass panels encased a powerful rain shower and a contemporary free-standing terrazzo bathtub. The stylish vanity unit had two generous sized washbasins moulded into the stone surround.

After a hectic day sightseeing what better way to unwind and recharge your batteries than at the hotel’s peaceful and exclusive Luxsa Spa which in 2012 was voted one of the top 35 best new spas in the world. There is a wide range of therapeutic massages and beauty treatments available, inspired by Thai remedies and balanced natural energy. We opted for the treatment intriguingly named ‘The Serenity’, which certainly lived up to it’s name. After a luxurious massage of the back, neck and shoulders we emerged feeling very pampered and totally revitalised. For those in search of a bit more action, Hansar boasts a state-of-the-art fitness centre and an infinity-edge swimming pool. There is also a very impressive Executive Business Floor.

Hansar Hotel has everything that the business or holiday visitor to Bangkok could possibly wish for. It is elegant, unique, comfortable and supremely luxurious as well as being a design masterpiece. It has all the comforts of the very best 5 star hotels but still manages to maintain a personal service to it’s guests that large chain hotels can only dream of. To us it was more than a luxury boutique hotel, it was a home from home where we felt nurtured, nourished and supremely comfortable. We would love to return to Hansar Bangkok.
