For some time pewter has been associated with trophy items and the in store display certainly showcases the high class allure of this versitile metal. Staff explain that pewter has evolved for the days when it was an alloy mixed with lead which raised serious health concerns. The new mix pewter is 100% safe and brings the tankard in from the cold.

Until now Connoisseurs of the fine pewter products of Royal Selagor could admire and purchase items in big stores which proudly stocked a selection of this leading pewter brand, now fans of the brand can view the entire range under one roof.

Royal Selangor’s first UK standalone store is on London’s King’s Road, the 1,317 square foot store is adjacent to Designer’s Guild. The Chelsea outlet opens to coincide with the 130th anniversary of Royal Selangor and positions it right in the middle of an interior design retail enclave.

“We wanted to launch our first store in the UK in a destination that reflects our quality and heritage. The King’s Road met our requirements perfectly due to the great mix of brands that share a similar ethos to our own and the cachet it holds as one of London’s most significant retail addresses.” said Peter Coleman, managing director of Royal Selangor UK, adding,

“We are delighted to be opening our first standalone UK store on the King’s Road. Consumers will now be able to see the full breadth of craftsmanship in the gift, table and barware we offer and get to know more about the intriguing brand behind the pieces they are so familiar with.”

Established in Malaysia in 1885, Royal Selangor has stores in more than 20 countries. The Chelsea flagship will stock the brand’s customised and designer homeware, as well as ornaments and personalised gifts, all made from pewter.
