For Luxury Hotels London – The Landmark

The Landmark, located in Marylebone, is a luxury hotel oozing historic charm and Victorian escape.

The majestic red brick building is situated on the doorstep of the train station, one of the last great Victorian railway hotels to be completed before the first world war. It now functions as a famous five star destination.

Enter the world of Agatha Christie, indulge yourself, if only for a short while, at this nod of the head to a bygone era.

From the foyer onwards, there is evidence of some careful restoration work.

Today the Landmark excels as a temporary escape into a bygone era, one of elegant dinner parties, high tea and ballroom dances.

The Landmark itself has survived two wars, numerous recessions and social change through constant adaptation. The building has served as a ww1 convalescent home, a dance hall and even a head office for British Rail.

It is only in its current guise, simply correct.

There`s something special about a stay here, from the stunning rooms to the exceptional service. Suites are beautifully furnished in classic 5 star trappings, – everything is cream and clean and polished to perfection.

The floor to ceiling marble bathrooms sparkle and shine, wardrobes light up, carpets sink and lamps glow from every corner of the room.

All meals are served in The Winter Garden, the Hotel`s restaurant. Sky scraping palm trees reach towards a glass ceiling five floors up; everywhere exotic orchids and azaleas sprawl over wickers chairs and iron railings.

Tables are covered in white linen and a beautiful grand piano provides background noise. The Garden is the heart of the hotel and once acted as dance hall in the roaring twenties.

If I haven`t got you interested yet, let`s talk food.

Hors d oeuvres of Cornish crab and seared tuna, saffron mayonnaise and warm olive bread. Tattinger champagne and an exquisite Sancerre then a seafood platter laden with the most incredible fish. Char grilled lobster, meaty langoustines, salty squid and pan-fried sea bass.
