Burns Night best peaty Scotch whisky suggestion

Monday 25th January 2021 is a big day for Scotch whisky fans. Celebrating Scotland’s most famous poet, Robbert Burns. Did you know Mr Burns wrote Auld Lang Syne? True.

Burns Night has been celebrated for centuries and continues to be a very important date in the diary, celebrated throughout the world of course, especially by those who love a wee dram!

If you’re planning a celebration of your own, remember to pick up your haggis, turnips (neeps) and potatoes (tatties) as well as your favourite dram of course!

Now we love a peaty whisky, so we wanted to bring your attention to a lovely dram we can’t get enough of at the moment. We are talking about Elements Of Islay Peat (59.9% ABV).

On the nose expect citrus, smoky barley, sea air and a hint of bacon.

On the palate expect fruity barbecue notes, kiwi, a little hot with more smoke building.

To finish expect smoky cinnamon apples and a touch of brine.

This is smooth, delicious, goes incredibly well with haggis and a fitting tribute to one of the world’s best remembered poets.
