After-dinner drinks
Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin
Following dinner, why not kick back with a gin & tonic? The first of our recommendations is Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin.
Handcrafted in the foothills of the Himalayas, this superb gin comes from one of India’s oldest distilleries. From the aesthetics of the bottle through to the flavour of the gin itself, there is only one word – “sophistication”. Refined in profile and triple-distilled for smoothness, this classic style gin uses a base of juniper and citrus against cubeb and grains of paradise, for a hint of spice. Described as “the whole of India in one bottle”, this gin is a memorable one and an exciting journey for the tastebuds.
RRP:£34.95 for 70cl (ABV 43%). Available from: Amazon, The Whisky Exchange and Master of Malt
Aviation American Gin
This American style-gin is unique and a must-try for gin fans. This gin, championed by actor Ryan Reynolds, is an American style-gin uses a base of rye grain and draws on less of a juniper influence than most. In fact, this bold gin has a medium to heavy body, with a range of floral and spicy notes (owing to the presence of Saspirilla, lavender and anise, to name but a few).
With less of a focus on juniper and moving away from London Dry Gin, this is a departure from what most gin drinkers have become used to in the UK. However, it is a welcome one and there is a lot of unique character to this gin. We highly recommend!
RRP: £32.00 for 70cl. (ABV: 42%) Available from: Tesco, Waitrose, Asda, Amazon, Master of Malt and 31 Dover
