Vorwerk Launches Smartphone App For Their Brilliant Robotic Vacuum

 Last year, we got our hands on the Vorwerk Kobold VR200 robotic vacuum cleaner and the results were superb. Without a doubt the VR200 offers cutting edge cleaning, with a smart navigation system and excellent results when it came to removing day-to-day dirt.

Slick controls at the touch of your smartphone

When we tried to Vorwerk VR200 last year, we were a little surprised that such an expensive and accomplished device did not offer smartphone functionality. After all, most of the competing machines at this level offer some kind of smartphone functionality. Does it live up to expectations? Yes, yes it does!

One of the best features of the new app is the ability to control the device remotely. This means you can start up your machine while on the go, anywhere with an internet connection. For example, if you find out that you’re are having unexpected visitors to your home and you aren’t there to vacuum the house, simply start up the app and get the robot on the case. Easy, quick and simple. From the app, you can also select spot cleaning (which essentially vacuums a small space) or you can ask the robot to do the whole floor of your house.  Once complete, the app will send you a notification! Or, if the device gets stuck, then you will also get a notification, so that you can save your device.

The app also offers the ability to schedule a clean on a daily basis. If you leave the house at the same time each day you can set the robot to clean at any time. Simple and effective!

There are two modes of operation on the device (which can be controlled via the app too), you can go with standard cleaning mode or an Eco mode, to use less energy.

The Kobold Robot app is available for iOS devices (version 8.0 and above) and Android devices (version 4.0 and above) and is compatible with all Kobold VR200 models, although a free software enhancement is required to enable compatibility with models purchased before September 2016.
