Karl Lagerfeld Signature Fragrances Unveiled
Eagerly anticipated for some time now, Karl Lagerfeld’s debut line of signature fragrances was finally revealed at a special event in Paris. Described as ‘fashion for the nose’, the pair of female and male fragrances is said to form a ‘story of the desire and irresistible attraction; sensuality and magnetism of a seductive rock ‘n’ roll duo’.
Karl Lagerfeld Women’s Scent
Created by Serge Majoullier and Christine Nagel, the women’s scent opens the perfume’s olfactory fabric with peach and lemon, before working into a heart of magnolia, plumeria and rose, followed by amber, musk and woods base notes.
The creators of this perfume described its creation as translating a universe of fabrics, textures and strong cuts; strong images and values.
Karl Lagerfeld Men’s Fragrance
Jean-Christophe Hérault, who was responsible for creating the men’s fragrance, described the process as a translation of Lagerfeld’s emblematic black and white colours into a contrast of sensual and expressive raw materials.
Opening up with mandarin zest and lavender, the men’s fragrance then develops into a crisp heart of violet leaves and apple, before drying-down with amber and sandalwood.
Karl Lagerfeld
Believing that fragrances should be highly sensual and are as important as clothing, Lagerfeld stated that, in his opinion, you do not just wear perfume because you wish to smell nice, but to feel beautiful or handsome.
Using his favourite models, Baptiste Giabiconi and Kali Neischer, renowned photographer Lagerfeld created an ad campaign designed to reflect the fragrances’ addictive, sensual nature.
