Film critics toil in dark cinemas considering the works, which have been lovingly created by filmmakers, often after years of blood sweat and tears. The serious work in the world of Cannes Film Festival.
However, the abiding image of Cannes to the outside world has to be the red carpet.
Les marches are THE focal point of the day. This is the glitter and glamour moment, which can turn the head of the most hardened art house cineaste. And much of the glamour and sparkle that makes the red carpet so special comes from the 7th Floor of a palace hotel at the far end of the Croisette.

Many of the hottest names get their hottest looks thanks to the packing cases full of goodies, and the team of technicians and specialists and stylists who are there to create the Cannes look: to make the Cannes dream a reality on the red carpet.
Swarovski ambassador Miss Marlohe enthused about Skyfall director Sam Mendes and her James Bond, Daniel Craig but she had words for her fetish film in the legendary series.

In terms of star power wattage fellow residents of the Martinez seventh, the l’Oreal team, is second to none. This year the list of ambassadors was a roll call of top names.
From Britain`s Cheryl Cole to the timeless glamour and elegance of Ines de la Fressange to the contemporary edge of rising star Leila Bekhti. Not only did the l`Oreal battalion of beauties march the red carpet with great effect they also lent their considerable star power to the A List star event of the Festival, the AMFAR AIDS fund raiser at the Hotel du Cap.
If you ask the photographers and the stars they will surely credit the stars – Swarovski, l`Oreal and Chopard – of the Seventh Floor with more than their fair share of red carpet glitz.
