Exclusive Monet Pastel exhibited at Trinity House Paintings, New York

Trinity House Paintings is an international art dealership specialising in Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, Modern British and 19th century works, based in New York, London and Gloucestershire.

Trinity House Paintings, will unveil Claude Monet`s `Waterloo Bridge` at the private view of their New York gallery opening and inaugural exhibition. The `From Constable to Cézanne Inaugural Exhibition` is to be held on October 19, 2011, 6:30-9:00 PM at 24 East 64th Street.

The New York Gallery opening with such a piece links back to their English counterparts in a suitably impressive way.

Monet created `Waterloo Bridge` in 1901 and is one of only 26 pastels of the River Thames to survive from this period and the only example currently available on the open market.

A nice back story to the piece is that Monet always wished to paint this landmark, but due to missing luggage, his paints, brushes and canvases never followed him to the Savoy hotel.

Instead, he had to resort to pastels. I think he got away with it OK!

To give you an idea of how exceptional this piece is, all other pastels of London by Monet are held in museum collections.

The exhibition will also feature a selection of important British paintings by John Constable, Sir Edwin Henry Landseer, Alfred Munnings and a work by George Stubbs once owned by the great American art collector, Paul Mellon.

Alongside the Monet, there will be other Impressionist and Post-impressionist artists such as Paul Cézanne, Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot and Eugéne Boudin.
