The Spa at Bluebird, Luxury Pregnancy Massage Review, Kings Road, London

The Spa at Bluebird on the Kings Road in London is a discreet and intimate luxury spa located at the back of the Shop’s fashionable space – it’s rather like a designer showroom combining female and male fashions featuring a quirky mix of luxury urban designers as well as interiors, books and music.

At the Spa they now offer eyebrow threading provided by Blink, the pioneer of walk-in brow bars, as well as an array of exciting gorgeous beauty products and professional beauty treatments performed behind the scenes in their treatment rooms, which are heavenly and the perfect place to unwind. I also loved the private dressing rooms complete with under floor heating!

After my morning at work I decided to treat myself to the Spa`s pregnancy massage. The treatment room looked incredibly inviting and the special cushions on the bed also intrigued me – this was a massage I hadn`t experienced before. I also looked forward to lying on my tummy, as I hadn`t done so for at least 6 months. First of all a few key tests were performed on my legs to check that the massage was suitable and so that the therapist could proceed.

The cushions were moulded round my bump until I was comfortable, this process took a while but I have to say the actual massage position was very comfortable. My therapist started on my lower back by using a gentle smelling aromatherapy oil from the Micheline Arcier Aromatherapie range called Vie Nouvelle. The overall massage lasted around 45 – 60 mins and was incredibly relaxing, as gentle strokes relieved the pressure on the middle of my back and shoulders in particular. Afterwards I felt completely calm and all I wanted to do was get home asap so I could fall sleep!
